About John

John’s Mission to Confront Addiction and the Opioid Crisis.

John is deeply passionate about speaking the truth regarding addiction, substance use, drug overdoses, and the opioid crisis facing our society. The rise of fentanyl has drastically changed the landscape—turning casual drug use, pain relief, and even marijuana or pills laced unknowingly, into life-threatening risks. Whether obtained through prescriptions or on the street, these substances can have fatal consequences.

Tragically, this epidemic is impacting both youth and adults on an unimaginable scale. In response, John is spreading awareness, sharing his powerful personal story, and bringing hope to communities and leaders in an effort to change the trajectory of this crisis. His mission is to cultivate understanding and shed light on the growing opioid epidemic through education, compassion, and truth.

John believes lasting change comes through education, building strong relationships within communities, and engaging in honest conversations with mental health professionals, nurses, first responders, and law enforcement.

At 48 years young, John has lived experience with addiction, having struggled for 17 years. What began with alcohol eventually led to the use of various drugs. Today, he stands as a testament to recovery—approaching 13 years of sobriety this coming April.

John now dedicates his life to mentoring individuals of all ages, showing them that recovery is not only possible but sustainable. He has shared his message of awareness, hope, and the real dangers of drug use with middle and high schools, colleges, city councils, jails, and recovery programs across the country.
